On December 16, Lin Zhiyong, Party Secretary and General Manager of the Institute of Chemical Engineering, led a team to the site of the caustic soda relocation project at Guangyue Electrochemical Co., Ltd. in Jiangmen City to carry out a special supervision and inspection of safe production. Relevant officials from the Institute’s General Contracting Management Department accompanied the inspection and participated in a symposium and exchange.

On November 24, the China Exploration and Design Association announced the winners of the 2025 National Outstanding Engineering Exploration and Design Awards. Among them, the chemical engineering institute’s project “High-Resolution Photosensitive Dry Film for Circuit Boards—Hunan Wujiang High-Tech Materials Co., Ltd.” was honored with the First Prize in the “Petroleum and Chemical Industry Engineering Design” category—the highest national award in China’s engineering exploration and design industry. This achievement represents a high-quality outcome of the chemical engineering institute’s ongoing commitment to the development philosophy of “professionalism, focus, innovation, efficiency, quality, and excellence,” and underscores the institute’s strong technical capabilities in the field of advanced materials engineering design.

Recently, good news came from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Survey and Design Association: four achievements submitted by the Institute of Chemical Engineering—namely, “Engineering Design Technology for Continuous High-Temperature Crystallization Production of High-Purity Manganese Sulfate,” “Engineering Design Technology for One-Step Production of High-Purity Potassium Nitrate via Nitric Acid Oxidation of Magnesium Oxide,” “Engineering Design Technology for Wastewater Treatment in the Brewing of Sauce-Aroma Baijiu,” and “Engineering Design Technology for Industrial-Scale Production of 1,3-Propanediol via Biological Fermentation”—have successfully passed the expert review organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Survey and Design Association for the year 2025 and have been granted proprietary technology licenses.

On November 25, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology organized an expert review meeting for the "Hunan Province Modern Petrochemical Industry Development Report 2024" and the "Hunan Province Petrochemical Industry Development Plan for the 15th Five-Year Period." The meeting was chaired by Jiang Ningfei, Director of the Petrochemical Industry Division of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology. Attendees included experts and professors from the department's Petrochemical Industry Division, as well as representatives from the Chemical Industry Institute, such as Lin Zhiyong, Party Secretary and General Manager; Zeng Qiaohong, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of the Chemical Planning Research Institute; Zeng Lingjun, Assistant to the General Manager; and members of the research team responsible for drafting these documents.

Early winter brought a gentle chill, yet the lingering warmth of autumn remained. To further strengthen team cohesion, reignite work enthusiasm, and build momentum for the year-end sprint, on November 22nd, the Fifth Trade Union Branch of the Institute of Chemical Engineering (comprising the Public Equipment Institute and the Survey Institute) organized a team-building activity for its employees in Changsha County. The event, themed "Tracing Red Heritage, Embracing Autumn’s Lake Scenery," drew over 30 union members and their family representatives.
