On December 25, the general contracting project for the Huangjiaogou Wastewater Treatment Plant in Renhuai City successfully passed acceptance inspection, marking the official completion of the construction phase and providing yet another robust support for the ecological barrier of China’s “City of Liquor.”
At the acceptance site, the acceptance team—comprising representatives from multiple departments including the Renhuai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, as well as a third-party testing agency—conducted a comprehensive “health check” following the procedure of “document verification + on-site inspection + data traceability.” Thanks to its robust core technology, reliable construction quality, meticulous commissioning and operation & maintenance, and complete and standardized technical documentation, the project fully met the acceptance criteria throughout its entire lifecycle. The acceptance team signed and stamped the acceptance report on the spot, officially confirming that the project had passed acceptance.
The path to project construction has been fraught with challenges. Within a straight-line distance of less than 200 meters, the site features a height difference of 66 meters. The steep terrain is compounded by highly unstable soil, and the site is located just over 100 meters from the Chishui River, making landslide and subsidence risks particularly prominent. Despite these daunting conditions, the construction team rose to the occasion, swiftly setting up a real-time monitoring system for settlement and displacement across the entire plant. They also pioneered an innovative “multi-platform soil stabilization + phased, staggered construction” approach, firmly establishing a robust foundation amid sheer cliffs and precipitous slopes. To address the heightened wastewater discharge pressures during the peak season for baijiu production, the commissioning team accepted the urgent task and moved onto the site half a year ahead of schedule. Working around the clock in two shifts, they dynamically optimized their plans and ultimately delivered a highly satisfactory outcome marked by advanced technology and exceptional resilience.
As a key provincial project and a vital livelihood initiative in Guizhou Province, this plant has a total investment of 214 million yuan and occupies an area of 51.2 mu. It is designed to treat 4,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day—comprising 3,000 cubic meters per day of liquor-making wastewater and 1,000 cubic meters per day of domestic sewage. The plant employs a combined treatment process featuring “pre-treatment + biochemical treatment (anaerobic + multi-stage AO) + advanced treatment (Fenton),” thereby establishing a solid technological foundation for ensuring that the treated wastewater meets discharge standards. Upon completion, this project not only breaks through the environmental bottlenecks facing Guizhou’s sauce-flavored baijiu industry but also underscores the provincial government’s firm commitment to safeguarding the ecological health of the Chishui River and promoting sustainable development.
The Huangjiaogou Wastewater Treatment Plant has been put into operation, aligning with Renhuai’s multi-dimensional pollution-control system and delivering multifaceted benefits: Ecologically, it significantly reduces wastewater discharge, alleviating the ecological burden on the Chishui River. In terms of people’s livelihoods, it serves thousands of households in the surrounding area as well as small and medium-sized liquor enterprises in the region, addressing their wastewater challenges and improving living conditions. Industrially, it breaks through environmental bottlenecks in the baijiu industry, providing essential infrastructure support for the green development of Renhuai’s baijiu production capacity and achieving synergistic progress in environmental protection and industrial upgrading.
The official launch of the Huangjiaogou Wastewater Treatment Plant in Renhuai City will provide solid protection for the clear waters of Chishui and lay a stable foundation for the ecological well-being of the “Wine Township.”
