On July 24, Cai Rui, Executive General Manager of the Chemical Engineering Institute, led a delegation to Guangxi Hualai New Materials Co., Ltd. for a visit and exchange. The two sides held discussions on topics including the 4,000‑ton‑per‑year nitrogen‑atomization aluminum and aluminum alloy powder project, as well as the development of follow-up collaborative projects. Relevant personnel from the Chemical Engineering Institute’s General Contracting Management Department and Business Planning Department, and from Hualai Company’s Project Management Department, Infrastructure Department, and Science & Technology Information Department, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Xie Lunshou, Deputy General Manager of Hualai Company.

On July 22, the preliminary design of the Tongguan Pilot-Scale Testing and Technology Transfer Base Project (Phase I) in the Wangcheng Economic Development Zone—designed by the Institute of Chemical Engineering—successfully passed the expert review. This pilot‑scale testing base is closely aligned with national, provincial, and municipal policies on chemical innovation and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, thereby addressing the critical gap in public pilot‑scale platforms for fine chemicals and biopharmaceuticals in Hunan Province.

Recently, the Hunan Provincial Survey and Design Association officially announced the list of award-winning projects in its “2025 Hunan Province Outstanding Engineering Survey and Design Awards.” Leveraging its robust technical expertise, exceptional design standards, and comprehensive project management capabilities, the Chemical Engineering Institute secured first‑class and third‑class honors for three of its design projects. Notably, a flagship project that earned the first‑class design award also achieved a groundbreaking third‑class honor in the general contracting category, marking the Institute’s first-ever recognition for a general contracting project. This multi‑project, multi‑dimensional success underscores the Institute’s core competitiveness in chemical engineering design and the remarkable growth of its engineering general contracting business.
