
The CYLC of the School of Chemical Engineering organized a themed study and research activity, "Me and Us - Youth University Learning," to celebrate the May Fourth Youth Day.
Carrying forward the red gene and uniting the strength of youth. To deepen the study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and to encourage young employees to strive for excellence in the crucial year of completing the 14th Five-Year Plan and preparing for the 15th Five-Year Plan, on April 18th, 2025, on the eve of the May 4th Youth Day, the Youth League Committee of the Chemical Engineering Institute organized a youth study and research activity themed "Me and Us Youth Study." Deputy General Manager Yang Fangwen and Assistant General Manager Yuan Zhuqin provided guidance throughout the event. Secretary of the Youth League Committee Li Zhenhua led more than 40 young employees under the age of 30 to visit the former residence of Ren Bishi, Yueyang Tower, and two chemical enterprises in Yueyang for study and observation. This activity used red education to forge the soul and on-site learning to empower, uniting the youthful forces for high-quality development.

Commemorating revolutionary martyrs and continuing the red bloodline. In the morning, all personnel traveled to the former residence of Ren Bishi and visited the Ren Bishi Memorial Hall. Through precious historical materials, they learned about the Party's struggle and deeply understood the noble character of Comrade Ren Bishi's "camel spirit," strengthening their ideological and belief foundation. Understanding the millennium cultural context and forging the original intention of striving forward. In the afternoon, the team visited the ancient Yueyang Tower, overlooking Dongting Lake. Through on-site study and research, they understood the lofty spirit of "worrying about the world before others and enjoying happiness after others." Everyone expressed their intention to transform this "worrying before enjoying" patriotic sentiment into practical actions at their posts, contributing their youth to the company's high-quality and leapfrog development.
Benchmarking industry frontiers and stimulating innovation. The afternoon's itinerary focused on industrial practice. The team was divided into groups to visit Changde New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Yueyang Jingjia Chemical Co., Ltd. for on-site learning, gaining an in-depth understanding of the operation of the factory areas designed by our institute and engaging in in-depth exchanges with the owner's technical team. This on-site visit and study was both a test of the design results and a vivid practice of the integration of production and research. Young engineers further strengthened their quality awareness and service concept, accumulating valuable experience to improve design levels and promote enterprise development.
Sharing growth insights and building a consensus on development. At the symposium, young employees shared their experiences based on their daily observations, expressing that young people in the new era should not only inherit the red gene but also cultivate strong abilities, realizing their self-worth in serving national strategies and enterprise development. Li Zhenhua reviewed the team building event, highlighting the significant gains made by participants in transforming blueprints into real-world scenarios, continuously enhancing their professional abilities, and improving their comprehensive qualities. Yuan Zhuqin encouraged young employees to actively participate in the company's production and operation, emphasizing that "practical work brings prosperity, while empty talk leads to ruin." Yang Fangwen summarized his own experiences, pointing out that "in the knowledge economy era, learning ability is the core competitiveness. No matter what position you are in, as long as you persist in learning, you will surely gain something." He also stated that the company will continue to improve its training system, providing employees with more opportunities to learn on-site at projects and creating favorable conditions for employee growth.
This themed team-building event, through a three-dimensional model of "red study and research + cultural immersion + on-site revisit," achieved the dual goals of ideological tempering and ability improvement. The company will also continue to deepen "Youth University Learning," guiding young employees to write a glorious chapter of youth in the company's high-quality and leapfrog development.
