At the beginning of the new year, the Chemical Institute re-signs contracts for high-purity manganese sulfate and manganese tetroxide.The first phase of the manganese-based new energy materials production project by Fujian Dexiang New Materials Co., Ltd. (including high-purity manganese sulfate, manganese tetroxide, and sulfuric acid) continues to consolidate the Chemical Institute's competitive strength in high-purity manganese sulfate and manganese tetroxide in the new energy materials sector, establishing its position as a domestic leader in specialized process technology.
Fujian Dexiang New Materials Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Fujian Del Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on the research and development and production of manganese-based new energy materials. The company is located in the Jinghua Park of Xinluo District, with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan and a planned area of 593 acres. This project has been listed as a key project in Fujian Province for 2024 and one of the top ten key projects in Longyan City, "Del Technology New Materials New Energy Project". The project scale includes a production capacity of 100kt/a of high-purity manganese sulfate for batteries, 20kt/a of high-purity manganese tetroxide for batteries, and a by-product of 35kt/a of sodium sulfate, as well as comprehensive utilization of 80kt/a of filter cake resources, while producing 170kt/a of iron concentrate and 300kt/a of 98% sulfuric acid, along with waste heat power generation and low-pressure saturated steam supply to the enterprise. The engineering design includes the main product production workshop, supporting raw material processing workshop, wastewater treatment workshop, by-product production workshop, filter cake resource comprehensive utilization processing workshop, warehouses, tank areas, slag yards, public engineering workshops, pilot workshops, production testing centers, machine repair workshops, sewage treatment facilities, office buildings, R&D buildings, canteens, and other auxiliary and ancillary facilities.
In recent years, the Chemical Institute has relied on its rich performance in core proprietary chemical process technologies, continuously increasing its investment in scientific research and development. In the field of new energy battery materials, including manganese sulfate and high-purity manganese sulfate, nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary precursor, lithium carbonate, iron phosphate, lithium battery anode, lithium iron phosphate precursor, electrolyte, and recycling of waste batteries, it has strong technical capabilities and a wealth of completed projects. It is particularly a leader in the engineering application technology of manganese sulfate, high-purity manganese sulfate, and manganese tetroxide both domestically and internationally. Since 2022, a number of domestic and foreign investment enterprises in manganese sulfate, high-purity manganese sulfate, and manganese tetroxide have visited the Chemical Institute multiple times for preliminary communication, technical exchanges, planning discussions, and program development, jointly promoting the rapid development of new energy battery materials.
Currently, the new energy battery materials are developing rapidly, and high-purity manganese sulfate, as an important raw material for ternary lithium batteries, is mainly used for the preparation of lithium manganese oxide, manganese tetroxide, and nickel-cobalt-manganese ternary materials. With the development of lithium-ion battery technology and the promotion of new energy vehicles, the market development prospects for high-purity manganese sulfate are particularly broad. The Chemical Institute has continuously designed and completed high-quality projects for manganese sulfate and high-purity manganese sulfate, iterating and upgrading the process technology in the specialized field of manganese sulfate and high-purity manganese sulfate, and maintaining a leading position in engineering design domestically.The Guizhou Dalong Huicheng battery new materials project couples the production process of active manganese for batteries with the production process of manganese sulfate for batteries. After production, it achieves a global and domestic market share of over 60% for high-purity manganese sulfate for two consecutive years. The Guangxi Aisokai 150,000t/a high-purity manganese sulfate project won the third place in the "Most Capable Construction" top 10 of China Energy Engineering Group in 2021 (previously won the Guangxi Steel Structure Gold Award in 2020). The Inner Mongolia Jinshan Mining Erentao Legai low-grade manganese-silver ore and tailings comprehensive utilization project with an annual output of 35,000 tons has been completed, breaking through the technical difficulties and bottlenecks of manganese-silver separation.After 2022, the Chemical Institute's manganese-based new energy materials have continuously signed contracts with the world's largest manganese company, Ningxia Tianyuan Manganese Industry, for the first phase of an annual production of 300,000 tons of high-purity manganese sulfate, Hubei Changcheng Lithium Energy's annual production of 60,000 tons of high-purity manganese sulfate project, Hunan Firebird New Materials Company's high-purity manganese sulfate and manganese tetroxide project, and the annual production of 300,000 tons of electrolytic metal manganese liquid system energy-saving and emission-reduction renovation project engineering design for Ningxia Tianyuan Manganese Industry. Additionally, a number of feasibility studies and planning designs for high-purity manganese sulfate and manganese tetroxide projects for Xinjiang Nonferrous Group Kebang Manganese Industry have been conducted, and on-site diagnostics have been carried out for the technical bottlenecks and cost reduction and efficiency improvement issues encountered by Guizhou Energy Mining Manganese Industry Group's first phase of 30,000t/a high-purity manganese sulfate production line, compiling a "Special Diagnostic Analysis Report" for the high-purity manganese sulfate production line.
