On May 3, Gu Junying, Executive Vice Mayor of Shenyang; Qi Xin, County Governor of Kangping County; and Zhao Haijun, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Kangping County Economic Development Zone, among others, conducted a field visit to the Shenyang Wind-to-Hydrogen Integrated Biomass-Based Green Alcohol–Fuel Demonstration Project (hereinafter referred to as the Shenyang–Kangping Project).

The Hunan Province Modern Petrochemical Industry Chain Collaborative Development and Cooperation Matchmaking Conference was successfully held in Yueyang.

On April 28, the Hunan Province Modern Petrochemical Industry Chain Collaborative Development and Cooperation Conference was held in Yueyang. Wang Yiyou, Vice Governor of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and Head of the Modern Petrochemical Industry Chain, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Li Zhi, Deputy Secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of the Municipal People’s Government, gave an address. More than 200 participants—including heads of member units of the provincial special task force on the modern petrochemical industry, officials from the industrial and information technology departments of various cities and prefectures, representatives from chemical parks, as well as experts and scholars from relevant universities and research institutes, and representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises in the petrochemical value chain and financial institutions—attended the event. As the technical support agency for the provincial special task force on the modern petrochemical industry and a co-organizer of the conference, the Chemical Research Institute sent its Party Secretary and General Manager, Lin Zhiyong, and Assistant General Manager, Zeng Lingjun, who were invited to attend.

Red hues rekindle our original aspirations, and industry forges youthful vigor—The School of Chemical Engineering held a Youth League-themed event to mark the May Fourth Youth Day.

To carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, foster a deep sense of patriotism and national identity among young people, and guide League members and youth to strengthen their convictions through red‑education and hone their skills in industrial practice, on April 24 the Youth League Committee of the School of Chemical Engineering organized all League members and employees under the age of 30 to travel to Zhuzhou for a May Fourth-themed Youth Day activity titled “Nurturing Original Aspirations with Red Heritage, Forging Youth Through Industry.” Participants traced the footsteps of revolutionary history, reflected on the evolution of industry, and appreciated the allure of science and technology, thereby rallying youthful energy and determination through immersive field study.

The Hubei Provincial Institute of Chemical Research and Design paid a visit to the Institute of Chemical Engineering to conduct a working exchange.

On April 21, Su Chunhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hubei Provincial Chemical Research and Design Institute, led a delegation—including Deputy General Managers Tang Wenhong and Xu Xiangbing, along with heads of relevant departments—to visit the Institute for a working exchange. Attending the meeting were Lin Zhiyong, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager; Zhou Nannan, Chief Engineer and Deputy General Manager; Zhou Xinggang, Deputy General Manager; as well as heads of the relevant departments.

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Ushers in the 15th Five-Year Plan with a New Chapter of “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative” Development

As the 15th Five-Year Plan gets underway, the Institute of Chemical Engineering has set its strategic goal: “Start with a sprint and fight a decisive battle from the outset.” Leveraging its expertise in specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative chemical process technologies, the institute adheres to the principles of prioritizing safety‑oriented design, embracing green design as its core philosophy, cultivating innovation‑driven design as its competitive edge, and pursuing intelligent design as its future direction. By strengthening technological innovation, deepening its focus on core areas, and seizing emerging opportunities, the institute secured a series of major contracts in the first quarter of 2026—leading the development of large-scale phosphate‑chemical projects while also winning bids for fine‑chemicals, new‑energy battery materials, biosynthesis, pharmaceutical initiatives, and chemical‑industrial parks, among other “specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative” ventures.

Zeng Hualin, Deputy General Manager of China Energy Engineering Group Hunan Institute, led a team to Lengshuijiang City to conduct a special research study on the planning and construction of a chemical industrial park.

On April 7, Zeng Hualin, Deputy General Manager of China Energy Engineering Group Hunan Institute, led a delegation that included Zhou Xinggang, Deputy General Manager of the Chemical Engineering Institute; Zeng Qiaohong, Deputy Chief Engineer and Director of the Chemical Planning Research Institute; and Zeng Lingjun, Assistant to the General Manager and Deputy Director of the Chemical Planning Research Institute, to Lengshuijiang City to conduct a special research study on the planning and construction of a chemical industry park. The meeting was attended by Mao Donghong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Lengshuijiang Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor, as well as relevant officials from the Lengshuijiang Economic Development Zone, the Municipal Science and Technology and Industry Bureau, the Municipal Natural Resources Bureau, the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, the Ecological Environment Sub-bureau, and Antimony Capital Development Co., Ltd.
