On June 6, to enrich employees’ cultural lives, strengthen team spirit, improve physical fitness, and foster a healthy, positive corporate culture, the Chemical Engineering Institute’s trade union organized the “Ride the Horse, Swing the Racket, Craft the Blueprint” 2026 Employee Badminton Tournament. Lin Zhiyong, Party Secretary and General Manager of the company; Zhou Nannan, Chairman of the Trade Union, Chief Engineer, and Deputy General Manager; and Deputy General Manager Gong Hui attended the event and took part in the competition. Teams from the institute’s various branches and departments formed four joint squads, with more than 70 staff members and cheerleaders participating in the activities.

On May 21, Chen Bozhang, Deputy Secretary of the Changsha Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, chaired a symposium with experts in the field of hazardous chemicals. The meeting aimed to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on coordinating development and security, fully carry out the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government, and the Municipal Party Committee, emphasize proactive prevention, adopt a problem‑oriented approach, and solicit, face-to-face, the views and suggestions of expert representatives. The session sought to strengthen safety oversight in the hazardous chemicals sector and promote the industry’s sustained, sound development. Relevant municipal leaders and heads of relevant departments attended the meeting. Zhou Nannan, Chief Engineer and Deputy General Manager of the Chemical Research Institute, was invited as an expert to participate and deliver remarks.

On May 13, Zeng Qiaohong, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Chemical Engineering Institute and Director of the Chemical Engineering Planning Research Institute, along with Zeng Lingjun, Assistant to the General Manager and Deputy Director of the same institute, led a delegation to Shimen County to conduct a special research mission on the planning and development of the chemical industrial park. The meeting was attended by Chen Yi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shimen County Party Committee and Vice County Magistrate; Tian Hui, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Shimen High-tech Industrial Development Zone; and relevant officials from the County Government Office, the County Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the County Bureau of Natural Resources, and other departments.

On May 8, Peng Guoxiang, Director of the Tongguan Chemical Industrial Park Office of the Wangcheng Economic Development Zone, led a delegation that included Li Gang, General Manager of Hunan Meiyarui New Materials Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Wang Yahui, Head of the Engineering Department at Zhuzhou Shidai Huaxin New Materials Co., Ltd., along with other relevant officials, to visit the Institute of Chemical Engineering. The group exchanged views and coordinated progress on key projects slated for entry into the park in the near term. Lin Zhiyong, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute, Yuan Zhuqin, Assistant to the General Manager, and representatives from relevant departments and project leaders attended the meeting.

On April 28, the Hunan Province Modern Petrochemical Industry Chain Collaborative Development and Cooperation Conference was held in Yueyang. Wang Yiyou, Vice Governor of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and Head of the Modern Petrochemical Industry Chain, attended the meeting and delivered a speech, while Li Zhi, Deputy Secretary of the Yueyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of the Municipal People’s Government, gave an address. More than 200 participants—including heads of member units of the provincial special task force on the modern petrochemical industry, officials from the industrial and information technology departments of various cities and prefectures, representatives from chemical parks, as well as experts and scholars from relevant universities and research institutes, and representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises in the petrochemical value chain and financial institutions—attended the event. As the technical support agency for the provincial special task force on the modern petrochemical industry and a co-organizer of the conference, the Chemical Research Institute sent its Party Secretary and General Manager, Lin Zhiyong, and Assistant General Manager, Zeng Lingjun, who were invited to attend.
