On May 3, Gu Junying, Executive Vice Mayor of Shenyang; Qi Xin, County Governor of Kangping County; Zhao Haijun, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Kangping Economic Development Zone; and other officials conducted a field inspection of the Shenyang–Kangping Demonstration Project for Green Alcohol–Fuel Production via Wind–Solar–Hydrogen Integration with Biomass (hereinafter referred to as the Shenyang–Kangping Project).
Li Bo, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Electric Engineering Corporation and General Manager of China Energy Construction Bochuang Green Fuel (Shenyang) Co., Ltd., provided a detailed overview of the Kangping Project in Shenyang, which is centered on Kangping County’s unique “wind power + biomass” integrated energy model and is being developed in three phases. The project will feature a 2 GW wind power capacity and annually consume approximately 3 million tonnes of biomass feedstock, with an annual output of 500,000 tonnes of green fuel. In addition, the project incorporates a green computing center, pioneering a synergistic development pathway that links green electricity with computing power. This initiative aims to establish a full-chain low-carbon circular system spanning “green electricity–green hydrogen–green chemical manufacturing–green computing,” thereby setting a new industry benchmark for the deep integration and coordinated advancement of green energy and the digital economy.
Mayor Gu Junying carefully listened to briefings on the project’s overall planning and layout, as well as its core technological innovations, and expressed full appreciation for the successful establishment of the project in Kangping County.
He pointed out that the Shenyang Kangping project serves as a benchmark example of close collaboration and deep integration between a central state-owned enterprise and the Shenyang Municipal People’s Government, setting a positive model for coordinated development between central and local authorities. He expressed the hope that the enterprise will take this project as a starting point to further deepen its presence in Liaoning—a fertile ground—by continuously increasing its investment, striving for excellence in production and operations, boldly pursuing technological upgrades, fortifying safety management, and making all-out efforts to advance toward the development goals set for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. At the same time, he urged relevant municipal departments to strengthen their service orientation, proactively engage in front-line coordination, provide comprehensive support for key resources, fully implement all supportive policies, and actively promote the wider demonstration and application of new technologies, new products, and new use cases, thereby providing robust safeguards for project development and contributing to high-quality local economic growth.
