Red Embraces Our Original Aspiration, Industry Forges Our Youth: Chemical Engineering Institute Holds May Fourth Themed Youth League Day Event
To carry forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, cultivate a deep sense of patriotism and national commitment among young people, and guide League members and youth to strengthen their convictions through red education and hone their skills in industrial practice, on April 24 the Youth League branch of the School of Chemical Engineering organized all League members and employees under the age of 30 to visit Zhuzhou for a May Fourth-themed Youth League Day activity titled “Nurturing Original Aspirations with Red Heritage, Forging Youth Through Industrial Practice.” The event enabled participants to trace the footsteps of revolutionary history, reflect on the transformation of industry, and appreciate the allure of science and technology, thereby harnessing on-site study and field research to rally youthful energy and drive forward.

On the day of the event, young employees visited Qiu Jin’s former residence, the Qing Shuitang Industrial Heritage Museum, and the China Power Valley Exhibition Center, embarking on a youth-oriented study tour that combined intellectual engagement with hands-on learning. Feel the original aspirations and integrity of the revolutionary martyrs. At Qiu Jin’s former residence, visitors pause to view historical artifacts and listen to accounts of her revolutionary deeds. Through faded historical documents and meticulously reconstructed scenes, they gain a profound appreciation for the “Heroine of Jian Lake’s” unwavering commitment to breaking free from feudal constraints and dedicating herself to the great cause of national salvation—her deep sense of patriotism and indomitable revolutionary spirit. This experience provides a powerful red education and spiritual renewal, further strengthening their ideals and convictions and reinforcing their original aspirations and mission.

At the Qingshuitang 1956 Industrial Heritage Museum, visitors gain an in-depth understanding of the development journey and transformation achievements of Zhuzhou’s historic industrial base. From vintage production equipment to immersive exhibits on ecological restoration, from the preservation of industrial heritage to the integration and innovation of cultural and creative industries, the exhibition offers a vivid, firsthand glimpse into the dynamic transformation of this former industrial zone into an eco-friendly, livable, and culturally vibrant district. Through this experience, attendees come to appreciate the city’s industrial legacy and the broader trajectory of its development, while deepening their understanding and commitment to the principles of revitalizing the nation through industry and pursuing green development.

At the China Power Valley Exhibition Center, young employees have had the opportunity to experience firsthand the cutting-edge strength of “China Power Valley.” Through model displays, multimedia interactions, and data visualizations, they have gained a comprehensive understanding of the innovative breakthroughs and remarkable achievements in Zhuzhou’s three major power industries—rail transit, aerospace, and new-energy vehicles. This hands-on exposure has allowed them to directly appreciate the technological prowess of high-end equipment manufacturing and the vibrant vitality of China’s manufacturing sector, inspiring their enthusiasm for excelling in design roles and boldly pursuing innovation and creativity.
This event seamlessly integrates red education, industrial culture, and hands-on technological experiences, thereby deepening ideological guidance while fostering youth exchange and alleviating work-related stress.
