On October 12, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the 300,000 tonnes/year refined phosphoric acid project of Hubei Ningphosphorus New Material Co. in Yaojiagang Chemical Park, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province. Ma Zejiang, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Yichang Municipal Party Committee, Yang Weihua, Standing Committee of Yichang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Political and Legal Committee, Huang Fangshuai, Deputy Secretary of Zhijiang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Zhijiang City, Li Wanqing, Chairman of Hubei Sannin Chemical Industry, Yin Yinhua, General Manager of Hubei Sannin Chemical Industry and other representatives of the relevant units of the project construction, Gong Hui, Deputy General Manager of Chemical Industry, Kang Wenbin, Project Manager, and Zhong Yanming, Director of the Institute of Public Utility Equipment, etc., participated in the ceremony.
The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Yang Weihua, member of the Standing Committee of Yichang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Political and Legal Affairs of Yichang Municipal Committee, and Ma Zijiang, deputy secretary of Yichang Municipal Committee and mayor of Yichang announced that the project was officially started. Li Wanqing, chairman of Sanning Chemical, said that the company will build high-quality projects and demonstration projects with the most demanding safety and security measures and the strictest quality assurance system, and will always adhere to the road of intelligent, high-end and green development, and take coal and phosphorus as the basis for stronger phosphorus chemical industry, better coal chemical industry, more refined new chemical materials, and better industrial service industry, and will strive to have sales of over 50 billion yuan by the end of 2030, and profits and taxes of over 5 billion yuan.
Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd. is a large-scale chemical enterprise integrating modern coal chemical industry, fine phosphorus chemical industry, new chemical materials and industrial service industry, ranked No.7 among China's top 100 fertiliser enterprises and No.103 among China's top 500 petroleum and chemical enterprises, with an annual output value of 36.9 billion yuan in 2023, and profit tax of 3.1 billion yuan.
It will be accompanied by 1.2 million tonnes/year of sulfuric acid, 800,000 tonnes/year of wet process phosphoric acid (400,000 tonnes/year of dihydrate process and 400,000 tonnes/year of semi-aqueous process), 100,000 tonnes/year of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, 250,000 tonnes/year of residue-slurry compound fertilizer, 550,000 tonnes/year of slurry special fertilizer, 600,000 tonnes/year of ammoniacal acid special fertilizer, and 2.0 million tonnes/year of cement retardant, and other installations and auxiliary works.
CIIC undertakes the overall design and technical services of the project and the engineering design of the refined phosphoric acid plant. As the lead overall design institute, CIIC organises various plant design institutes and other institutes to cooperate fully, and has completed the project feasibility study report, planning and design, etc., and is now carrying out the construction drawings design, and it is expected that the project will be completed and put into operation in June 2026, and the project is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year.
