Provincial Excellent Industrial Engineering Second-class achievement project “66,000 tons/year special amine new material project of Yueyang Changde New Materials Co., Ltd.” This is a key construction project in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. The product is a type of high-efficiency, safe, and environmentally friendly special amine product that is encouraged, prioritized, and supported by the state. Among them, the cyclohexanediamine product fills the gap in key raw materials for the domestic wind power materials industry chain, achieving a breakthrough in China's "stuck neck" technology; the "cement raw material grinding aid" product fills the gap in this type of functional additive both domestically and internationally, with its main performance reaching internationally advanced levels. It has been recognized as a Hunan Provincial third-batch manufacturing single champion product and is included in the national industrial and information technology field energy-saving technology and equipment product recommendation catalog. In the project design, the engineering thinking and innovative concepts are implemented throughout, from improving the process route, adjusting the plant structure, optimizing equipment layout, macro-overall layout, selecting safe, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly equipment and highly automated control systems, etc., to meet the requirements of industrial innovation and green development for this project's special amine series products. The project was successfully put into operation in November 2019. After more than four years of operation, production has been stable, product quality is high, and the overall project has become a benchmark project in the industry both domestically and internationally due to its advantages in technological advancement, intelligent production, low cost, high economic efficiency, and environmental protection and energy saving. It has received high attention and recognition from the industry. Provincial Excellent Industrial Engineering Project Third-class achievement “Hunan Bangpu Recycling Technology Co., Ltd.'s waste power battery recycling project - production increase and expansion project” This is an expansion project, producing lithium battery cathode material precursor materials, a product category encouraged by national policies. The project utilizes process wastewater generated by the existing plant facilities, using nickel beans/nickel powder and nickel-iron alloy as raw materials, recovering effective resources from the wastewater through a wet process to produce nickel sulfate, iron phosphate, lithium carbonate products, and by-products such as sodium sulfate and sodium chloride. The successful implementation of the project solved the problem of insufficient wastewater treatment capacity of the existing production facilities, extended the industrial chain, added iron phosphate products, enriched the company's product varieties, enhanced market competitiveness, and achieved domestically advanced production processes. The project was successfully tested in 2022 and has been running stably for over two years. Wastewater treatment meets requirements, product quality is high, and economic benefits are good, helping Hunan Bangpu to continue to be a benchmark enterprise in the waste battery recycling industry.
In 2024, two projects from the Chemical Engineering Institute won the Hunan Provincial Surveying and Design Achievement Award, representing a small fraction of countless excellent projects and high-quality engineering works. As a Class A design institute for chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries and a provincial "production-education integration" postgraduate joint training base, the Chemical Engineering Institute has cultivated expertise in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, construction, and municipal sectors for over 60 years. Its qualifications and certifications are at the forefront of ministerial and provincial institutions, possessing strong and long-standing technical capabilities and expertise. Its related technologies are "specialized, refined, and unique," with distinct characteristics and obvious advantages. It boasts three technological innovation platforms: the "Provincial Enterprise Technology Center" of the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the "Municipal Electrochemical Energy Storage Materials Technology Innovation Center" of the Changsha Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, and the "Municipal Enterprise Technology Center" of the Changsha Municipal Development and Reform Commission. In the design process of chemical projects, the Chemical Engineering Institute adheres to the principles of "safety design as the primary task, green design as the core concept, innovative design as the core competitiveness, and intelligent design as the direction of development."
