The Chemical Engineering Institute’s 2026 Staff Badminton Tournament Ushers in a Vibrant Chapter for the Provincial Institute
On June 6, to enrich employees’ cultural lives, strengthen team spirit, improve physical fitness, and foster a healthy, positive corporate culture, the Chemical Engineering Institute’s trade union organized the “Ride the Horse, Swing the Racket, Craft the Blueprint” 2026 Employee Badminton Tournament. Lin Zhiyong, Party Secretary and General Manager of the company; Zhou Nannan, Chairman of the Trade Union, Chief Engineer, and Deputy General Manager; and Deputy General Manager Gong Hui attended the event and took part in the competition. Teams from the institute’s various branches and departments formed four joint squads, with more than 70 staff members and cheerleaders participating in the activities.

This competition is hosted by the company’s trade union, The tournament features five events: men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles (two categories), and the “Unparalleled Pursuit Race,” with a tightly packed schedule and fiercely contested matches. To the stirring music of the opening ceremony, four combined teams entered the arena in uniform, their spirits high. Following a brief yet solemn opening ritual, the competition officially began. In the first round of elimination matches, Team One faced Team Four, while Team Two took on Team Three. On the court, players served with decisiveness, received with composure, and unleashed powerful smashes; their movements flowed seamlessly, as the score ebbed and flowed in a thrilling back-and-forth. The action reached new heights at every turn. Particularly in the “Unparalleled Chase” event, each team fielded nine players in rapid succession, and the 90-point scoring system kept the outcome tantalizingly uncertain until the very last moment. Off the court, cheers and shouts rose and fell in waves, creating an atmosphere of extraordinary fervor.
After several rounds of intense competition, the two winning teams advanced to the championship match, while the other two battled for third place. In the end, thanks to their seamless teamwork and tenacious spirit, Team Two took first place, Team One came in second, Team Three finished third, and Team Four placed fourth—each team showcased its unique style and demonstrated a high level of performance.
This badminton tournament not only provided employees with a much-needed respite from their demanding work schedules but also served as an important platform for cross‑departmental communication and collaboration. Employees from different branches and departments fought side by side on the court and offered mutual encouragement off it, strengthening the company’s cohesion and sense of unity. Participants unanimously expressed their determination to carry the spirit of tenacity, relentless striving, and unwavering perseverance they demonstrated on the court into their daily work, thereby contributing to the company’s high‑quality development.
